1. How did you come up with your Brand name? We are raw and uncut with everything. Always saying what’s real and on our mind, never holding back. We were actually coming up with different names and the names weren’t fitting our style so we randomly came up with the name Rated Raw. It was a group idea but it just had a ring to it. Unapologetic.
  2. What inspired you to start your own business? We don’t want to live the typical 9-5. It’s nice but, no. We want to live up to our fullest potential and follow our dreams. As a group, our vision is clear and we are more concerned about having a career rather than a job. It’s other ways to become successful.
  3.  What was your original business mission and how has it evolved since you started? Some obstacles were just having a sense of time, being able to balance a schedule. Bringing ideas to life and putting them in motion. Sacrificing time and dedication.
  4.  What motivates you to get up every morning and go harder for your business? Our motivation is knowing all the possibilities- all of the avenues in which our business will take us to. Being able to enjoy what you do on a daily basis is priceless.
  5.  Name a celebrity or someone you are most inspired by that you would like to see supporting your business and why? Oprah because she started off in poverty and now she is one of the most successful black women in the world. She also started on radio and television a career path we are going into. Tyler Perry is great motivation because he was literally homeless with nothing at all but he kept pushing and never gave up on himself when everyone else around him did. Lastly, Issa Rae is young and vibrant and she is so relatable to the youth and all the obstacles and situations we face.
  6. What makes what you do dope? How do you stand out?  We are so original and down to earth. There’s no sugar coating and able to reach a diverse audience. Relatable to the people and everyday struggles (doesn’t have to be just financially).
  7. What are some of the greatest challenges you’ve faced along the way?  Solidifying our roles as a team. Having a slow start, scheduling, budgeting and being established and unified.
  8. Tell me one of your greatest accomplishments or moments you’ve had since you’ve started your business? The first photo shoot brought us closer together as a group. We bonded and looked great as a unit. It was just an awesome vibe.
  9.  If it was one thing you could tell an up and coming entrepreneur; what would it be? Sticking to what you want to do no matter what. Regardless of what anyone says, always be prepared to fail but keep on persevering. Every time you get a no you are that much closer to getting a yes.
  10. Your brand is now a new addition to the Crayon box. What color would it be and why? Rated Iridescent- you never know what you will get because we always keep it colorful, live, fresh and versatile. We’re open-minded, always seeing a situation from all angles.
